Children (7-9)
THE GREAT GUACAMOLE THROWDOWN
Think you have what it takes to make authentic Mexican guacamole? Learn what makes a great bowl of guac and compete against your fellow Ranchers to create your signature version of this beloved dish. You and your teammate(s) will choose from a variety of fresh ingredient options and use a traditional molcajete and tejolote (Mexican mortar and pestle) to craft your delicious creation! Our panel of expert judges will taste all of the creations and award one winning team the coveted “Golden Aguacate” trophy… and weeklong bragging rights!
Tweens (10-12)
FOOD & NUTRITION JEOPARDY!
Are you a trivia whiz? Do you think you know lots about food, nutrition and healthy eating? Come test your knowledge of all these topics with RLP’s own version of the famous game show “Jeopardy,” where teams will rack up points answering trivia questions about topics ranging from Mexican food and fruits to vitamins and pasta from around the world! Don’t forget the most important rule of Jeopardy: “What is: always phrase your answer in the form of a question?”
Teens (13-17), Parents/Adults welcome
WHAT SHOULD YOU EAT?
For something that seems so simple, eating can get pretty complicated! Everyone seems to have a different opinion on what we should be eating… and what we shouldn’t. In this session, you’ll learn which influencers we should be listening to when it comes to diet, #whattheyeatinaday, and what makes for a healthy diet. You’ll leave with answers to all your questions about whether breakfast is really so important, and what role controversial foods like carbs, gluten, dairy, soy and sugar play in the diets of the world’s healthiest people.

She earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University and completed her training at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
