Rancho La Puerta Keepsake Box

This keepsake box is hand made by artisans from the village of Olinala, Guerrero, with an aromatic wood called Linaloe.   Mythical figures are shaped in the traditional colors of Mexico using an ancient lacquering technique.  The artisans preserve the pre-Hispanic history of this art from, using paint and vegetables to produce the vibrant colors and using antiquated tools like thorns, deer tails, and turkey feathers to create the various beautiful images displayed.
