Rodo Padilla is an award-winning artist and sculpturist from Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico. He is most recognized for his work in high temperature ceramic (stoneware). Some of his most famous pieces are also made in bronze and displayed internationally.
Padilla strives for perfection in his work. Each sculpture he creates starts off from the earth, made of clay and water. He carefully selects each clay mixture with the hope of capturing a feeling, an attitude, and a character to create uniqueness in each piece. He continuously searches for the perfect integration with climate to achieve a meticulous slow drying method. This process gives him a better understanding of nature living intimately with the sun, wind, and humidity. The final decorations are painted on using enamels made with clays, earth, and oxides. His organic approach gives his pieces a unique earthy look.
