Choose Love! The Inner Fitness Program, with Emily Boorstein

The Inner Fitness program is designed for accelerated transformation and awakening from the “Inside-Out”.  It is a comprehensive and practical program for people seeking to heal old wounds, navigate life with greater ease, learn to feel and communicate effectively, improve personal and professional relationships, cultivate inner peace, and manifest their uniquely authentic, fulfilling and joyous life.  And, Inner Fitness is fun!

Lesson 1: Change Your Mind
Yes, it’s possible to change our mind! And by change, I mean transform. We have a most incredible power to choose the way we see, interpret and respond to our life’s circumstances. Imagine putting on a whole new lens that quiets our well worn harmful patterns of thoughts and behaviors and allows us to see and respond with clarity and wisdom.

Lesson 1 focuses on self-awareness and cultivating the skill to shift from living in the default paradigm of fear and scarcity to living from wisdom, truth and love.

Lesson 2: Healthy Inner Dialogue
Do you ever wonder who’s doing all that chatting in our minds, and even more importantly, which voice we put in the drivers seat of our lives?  We are multi-dimensional beings with multiple voices expressing their opinions and directing our actions.  Sometimes it’s our wounded child or adolescent trying to express their hurt and anger, or our critical parent wagging its finger in judgement and shame.

Lesson 2 focuses on recognizing the various voices within and cultivating the voice of the Nurturing Parent who helps us navigate and respond to our inner world of thoughts and feelings and shows us how to live from our wise adult self so we can best respond to the challenges and circumstances of our life.

Lesson 3: Permission to Feel
Having access to our full range of emotions, and cultivating the skill to feel them instead of stuffing or bypassing them, is vital to living our most authentic, powerful and satisfying life.  When we know how to feel our emotions, and have the skills to express and communicate them responsibly, we feel more grounded, whole and connected to ourselves and others!

Lesson 3 focuses on understanding the world of emotions and the important role they play in almost every aspect of our life.  Come learn how to feel, navigate and honor your emotions with your greatest wisdom and highest intention.  You will feel better!

Lesson 4: The Joy of Responsibility
Have you ever noticed that we often play the same ‘victim’ story in our mind over and over again, and that we keep reacting to our life from that story, often in repetitive negative behaviors?  We get stuck in false emotions like blame, guilt and resentment; feeling powerless to make positive changes?

Lesson 4 focuses on recognizing our own patterns of thoughts and behaviors that hold us back from realizing our greatest sense of self and achieving our dreams.  Radical responsibility means seeing ourselves clearly, our strengths and our weaknesses, and taking full ownership of the impact we have on ourselves and others, both positive and negative. It’s our ticket to more freedom and joy!

Lesson 5:  Create and Manifest Your Best Life

We are always creating and manifesting our life, whether consciously or unconsciously!  Our life is a reflection of our inner world of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, attitudes, choices and decisions!  These are our raw materials that make up our life story and circumstances.

Lesson 5 focuses on re-aligning our raw materials to reflect our most authentic, powerful, and loving version of ourself to consciously create and manifest our deepest desires and sweetest life. Nothing changes until you do!

Remember, you are miraculous!

And may all your dreams come true.

Blood, Biotechnology and Well-Being – Overviews of Genetics, Cellular Therapies and Aging.

Discover the provoking and revolutionary technologies that will not only treat each of us more precisely but will drive longevity and healthier communities.

Blood, Biotechnology and Well-Being – Overviews of Genetics, Cellular Therapies and Aging.
Over the past 20 years, biological discoveries and healthcare technologies have evolved at breakneck speed.  It is now possible to read your entire genetic blueprint in a few hours, reprogram your immune cells to kill cancer, and mine amounts of data never before imagined, all to more effectively treat us more precisely as individuals.  Individuals and communities will live longer and healthier lives, and it all starts with our blood!

Blood, Biotechnology and Well-Being – DNA and Genetics.
The discovery of the molecular basis of DNA by Watson and Crick in 1952 has cracked wide open the understanding of our genetic blueprint, how single molecular changes in our DNA can cause disease, how our DNA directs how we respond to therapies, and how we can now edit our DNA to eradicate disease, with technologies such as CRISPR.  DNA sequencing and editing technologies applied to agriculture and microorganisms, bacteria and viruses, will enable us to realize both precision medicine and more importantly precision health.

Blood, Biotechnology and Well-Being – Cellular Therapies.
Pharmaceutical development is at an amazing inflection point, using cells to replace damaged and diseased tissues.  Cellular therapies are just now being applied clinically, after the earlier waves of chemical drugs, such as aspirin, and biologics, such as antibodies (i.e. Humira).  The treatment of cancer has followed drug development and now it is possible to leverage and even reprogram your own immune system to fight cancer.

Blood, Biotechnology and Well-Being – Aging.
While cancer involves the aberrant growth of cells, cell senescence, or aging, occurs through similar genetic changes.  Scientists now believe our bodies were designed to live longer than we actually do, and it’s the inhibition of disease that will enhance longevity.  Will genetically manipulating individual cells allow us to live both disease-free and longer?  In this program we will also briefly review the biology of skincare and wound repair.

David Wellis PhD is a nationally known cell biologist, innovator and entrepreneur with over 30 years of engagement in the life science industry.  David currently serves as the CEO of the San Diego Blood Bank.  David joined SDBB following his tenure at a variety of companies that developed antibody therapeutics and tools for biomedical research, diagnostic and applied markets. David received his B.S. from UC Irvine, an M.S. and Ph.D. from Emory University, postdoctoral training at Tufts University and UC Berkeley, and business training at Santa Clara University and UC Berkeley.  David serves on the Executive Committees of the Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute at UC San Diego, and the All of Us Research Program at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.  David also holds board and committee roles in several national blood bank organizations and local biotechnology companies, including two of his own.  He has presented to local and national audiences, Young Presidents Organization and has been invited to the White House twice!

Jill Thiry has been on a lifelong journey as a “student of change.” Her first job in the recreation industry was teaching aerobic dance and swimming and then directing the department at the YWCA in Madison, Wisconsin, which was followed by teaching kayaking and skiing in the Alps. Completing her MBA at USF brought a fun, decades-long run in high-tech publishing, creating and managing many brands in the Bay Area and New York. After 9/11 and a transformative week-long stay at Rancho La Puerta in 2002, she discovered the importance of mindful practice in making choices for her life.  Creating easily identified tasks to ensure desired changes and outcomes started with annual retreats with her family and evolved into an 8-step process for and with friends and clients. The effectiveness of the program became clearly evident with zoom sessions during the pandemic.  This success spurred her on to launch Club Change, where participants support each another in making the necessary choices to enhance their bodies, minds, spirits, and communities.  Jill sees a world where everyone has their own “club” to support them lovingly through any change large or small.   jillthiry.com.

Reset and Refresh: Sound Healing and Meditation with Laura Gallerstein

Why Sound Healing?

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” ― Nikola Tesla

We are living in unprecedented times and change is everywhere. We need stability and peace in our lives more than ever. Sound through the alchemy bowls and toning can offer that feeling of peace and connection to our inner voice rather than the outer world. We can learn to relax and recalibrate to be able to access that inner guidance.

Laura Penn Gallerstein, Sound Healer, with 700 hours in Yoga, and a new author of  “Whispers in Sound”, is an experienced practitioner and dynamic teacher in the field of Body, Mind & Spirit.  For over forty years she has been committed to learning and honing her skills in many aspects of Yoga and Meditation.  For the past 10 years she has found her passion in Sound Healing with the Alchemy Crystal Bowls and Chanting.  She is the previous owner of Moving Spirit Retreats in Southern California, more recently co–founder of Singing Bowls Temple and now owner of Sedona Sacred Sounds.  She has trained extensively with master teachers around the world.  Before settling into Sedona she traveled around the country leading and participating in Sound Healing experiences. She continues to bring these amazing sounds, chanting, guided imagery, and meditation into all her Sound Healing classes in Sedona and around the country.  In Addition, she leads workshops and trainings in Sound and Vibrational Healing in Sedona and most recently San Diego. With over a thirty year affiliation with Rancho La Puerta she brings these transformational sounds with her harmonium to assist in bringing peace and harmony into people’s lives.

She lives in Sedona with her beloved husband, Gary, and her three-legged dog “Hop,” and has 3 wonderful young-adult children.

Stay Sharp with Age! 10 Key Factors to Take Care of Your Brain

Everyone wants to stay sharp with age! As baby boomers mature into older age groups, however, we are seeing more cases of dementia than ever before. “Here’s the good news,” says Dr. Annie Fenn: “We’re finding that up to 60% of all dementias could be prevented by paying attention to what we eat and how we live.” The scientific research is exploding with information about how to fend off age-related cognitive decline—in particular Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. That’s why Dr. Annie Fenn, a physician, chef, and culinary instructor, created the Brain Health Kitchen, the only cooking school of its kind to focus specifically on fending off Alzheimer’s. As both a Presenter and Visiting Chef, Dr. Fenn brings the Brain Health Kitchen to the Ranch. She’ll share the latest science in a talk about what to eat to nourish and protect your brain. You will learn real-life take-aways you can start using today. At La Cocina Que Canta, she’ll offer three hands-on cooking classes focused on easy and delicious meals using nutrient dense, anti-inflammatory ingredients. You will learn key cooking techniques specific to Alzheimer’s prevention, such as how to cook with olive oil without destroying its healthy fats. And, you will learn how to avoid the foods that contribute to cognitive decline.

Inner Fitness: Authentic Alignment

Empower Yourself to Live a life of Purpose, Value and Vision
So often we give our power away to other people, places and things thinking that they will make our lives meaningful and fulfilling. The truth is you are the only one who can empower yourself to live a life that you find personally purposeful, valuable and full of vision for your optimal future by following the inner guidance of your truest deepest highest self.

Get Clear About Your Life Purpose
Your Life Purpose is what deeply fulfills you 24/7 no matter where you are, who you are with and what you are going through. When you are clear about your Life Purpose and you let it guide you, every day can be positive, purposeful and fulfilling for you.

Living in Alignment with Your Core Values
Your Core Values are your guiding principles, personal golden rules and sacred laws. No one can tell you what they are. They come from within you and have been guiding you your entire life. When you live in alignment with your Core Values you will always feel like you are on the right path and will cultivate love and appreciation for yourself.

Your Message is Your Magic
All day long we send ourselves messages, but it is usually happening on a subconscious level and is oftentimes flowing from limiting beliefs. When you get clear about the message you know is aligned with your higher potential and consciously cultivate it everyday, you will not only tap into daily personal inspiration, but you will uplift and support others as well.

Your Big Vision is Calling You:
How can you create a life that you love if you do not have a clear vision of what you actually want? Even if you have clarity about what you actually want, if it is not aligned with who you truly are, then it will not be healthy for you and sustainable amidst life’s many changes. Gaining clarity about and knowing what you truly want in all areas of your life is the foundation for actually creating a life of true fulfillment.
