Intuitive Ink Painting with Karen Boren Gerstenberger

Week of February 13, 2027

Intuitive Ink Painting
Explore the joy of painting intuitively and freely with brush markers filled with intensely pigmented, water-based inks. Each day, you’ll learn simple techniques for blending colors and creating beautiful effects with ink brushes, water brushes, and pens, then have plenty of time to create your own work.

Paint greeting cards, or take your creativity further by creating a card-sized travel journal—a beautiful way to record feelings, experiences, and memories, or to create a special gift and “take the Ranch home.”

Each session begins with an introduction to the materials and a brief demonstration, followed by relaxed, open-ended creative time. Join for one session or return throughout the week to build on your work.

No previous art experience is necessary. All supplies will be provided, and there is no pressure or criticism—just luscious colors, creative exploration, and the pleasure of making something uniquely your own.

Karen Gerstenberger is an artist who lives and creates along the shores of Puget Sound, Washington. Working in acrylics and mixed media, her art has been exhibited in galleries and is held in collections throughout North America, Europe, and South Africa. Deeply inspired by nature and its healing power, Karen facilitated Strolls for Well-Being for more than six years and taught Meditative Drawing at the Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island. She brings this same spirit of mindful exploration and creative freedom to her teaching. Karen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and a certificate in Forest Therapy Guiding, along with training in Reiki. She is also the author of Because of Katie and the founder and president of Katie’s Comforters Guild and The Katie Gerstenberger Endowment for Cancer Research at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
