The Search for Purpose: Becoming the Person You’re Meant to Be – Drop Dead Diva episode: The Long Road Home (Season 1 Finale)
This episode explores the tension between who we are and who we aspire to become. Josh will screen the episode and discuss how the series uses comedy, romance, and fantasy to examine larger questions about destiny, purpose, and personal transformation. The conversation will also explore the role television can play in helping audiences reflect on their own life journeys.

Josh Berman is a long-tenured TV and new media creator and content producer with his own production company, Osprey Productions. In the past few years, Osprey Prods has set up multiple TV projects at all four major broadcast networks as well as six streaming services. Josh is also a leader in developing content for start-ups, having created and produced Murder House Flip for Roku platform. Josh created the hit series, Drop Dead Diva, which has been streamed over a half billion times worldwide. The Drop-Dead Diva format is now being adapted in multiple countries and territories, including: Russia, China, Egypt, South Korea, and Mexico.
Josh recently served a three-year term as a Delegate on the prestigious Board of the Producers Council of the Producer Guild of America (PGA), which represents approximately 5,000 producers of film and TV. Josh has been well recognized for his work; he’s been nominated for an Emmy as well as winning a Golden Globe and multiple People’s Choice and GLAAD awards. Josh began his writing career on the first season of the international hit CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He quickly climbed the ranks to Executive Producer before signing a deal to create new content for Twentieth Century Fox. Josh graduated from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business with an M.B.A. and Stanford’s Graduate School of Law with a J.D. He graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy. Berman was also a Fulbright Scholar in Australia where he received an M.A in History from the University of Sydney. Josh’s first novel, Dead Matters, a forensic thriller, will be released by Podium Publishing in January of 2027
