Turn Struggles into Wisdom

Week of August 15, 2026

Workshop Overview

Most of us are following patterns we didn’t choose — and rarely question. This week, you will learn to recognize the patterns shaping your reactions, decisions, and sense of self. You will challenge what no longer fits, make sense of discomfort, rewrite the story you tell yourself, and learn a wisdom practice you can use daily.

The Four Sessions

Session 1:  A Struggle is a Signal

What is it trying to tell you?

We tend to think of struggles by category — work, relationships, purpose, self-worth. The truth is that struggles are complicated and they cross all kinds of boundaries. In this opening session, you will identify one struggle to work with for the week, examine the pattern you keep getting caught in, and start questioning what you have been making it mean.

Session 2:  The Comfort Trap

Why knowing better isn’t enough.

Most of us know exactly what we should do differently. And yet — here we are. Something always gets in the way. You have been coping with this struggle for longer than you’d like to admit. It’s familiar — even if it isn’t comfortable. In this session, you will identify the coping mechanism that keeps you stuck, calculate what it has cost you over time, and take your first deliberate step toward where you want to be.

Session 3:  Cleaning Your Windshield

Assumption or Truth

The stories we tell ourselves have often come from beliefs and assumptions we absorbed from family, culture, profession, and past experiences. What if assumptions are distorting the way you see your struggles? In this session, you will discover why you interpret your struggle the way you do, examine whether it makes sense with who you are today, and decide how you want to interpret it going forward.

Session 4:  Activating Your Wisdom

A Practice for Life

This is where you turn your struggle into a nugget of wisdom. Using the D.R.E.A.M. framework — Desire, Reflect, Explore, Acknowledge, Mantra — you will map everything you have uncovered this week into your personal wisdom practice: what you truly want, what you now know to be true, and a mantra that encourages and supports you going forward. You leave knowing how to interpret your struggles clearly — and with a practice to help you do exactly that, for the rest of your life.
