Would highly recommend visiting Rancho La Puerta in any capacity you can, even just for the day. I happened to visit The Ranch for my birthday on a Saturday for a Saturday at The Ranch. It couldn’t have been more simple…The Ranch is so relaxing, the organic food simply delicious, the spa services are top notch.

Sue and Gaby

It’s our first time here and we were wondering why people are always telling us they keep coming back. By Wednesday of our stay, we got it! It’s about the inner peace that slowly builds and life situations that become clearer with each day.

The Ranch has always felt like a sanctuary & safe place to retreat from the rigors of the ‘real world,’ but now more so than ever. After a year of being constrained by the pandemic, coming here where I can breathe freely & let my soul expand with the joy of life again is the healthiest thing I can do for myself.

Reyna Venegas, Executive Chef Rancho La Puerta

I believe eating is a sacred act; what we consume becomes a part of ourselves. I want guests to enjoy each bite, relax, and have the best dining experience possible. My goal is for guests to feel energized, inspired, and nourished with every meal.

Chuck Ellinwood, 27 visits, Encinitas

The people from Mexico, the place and the philosophy bring me back—and it really is Mount Kuchamaa. I’m not religious or spiritual but when I go up on the mountain, I am. It’s real powerful. I feel total relaxation and calmness.

Sharon Blumberg, 8 visits, North Carolina

The Ranch gives me the opportunity to pause and be myself unencumbered. I can slow down and really be present through all the activities. Rancho La Puerta is a magical place of renewal to revitalize your spirit and soul.

Lauren Tannenbaum, 1 visit, Los Angeles

There’s an energy here. For years and years, people have come to connect with themselves, others and nature. People come here to be their best selves. You feel that. It carries you.

Hannah, 2019

This was a really special trip because it was just my mom, sister and me. I’m a big trail runner, so I was in heaven exploring their beautiful and scenic trail system. I love the way I feel after a week at the ranch—healthy, refreshed, content and ready to return!

Get ready to renew your mind, body, and spirit at AMR’s first-ever international retreat at Rancho La Puerta! Dimity fell in love with her adventure at this world-class resort & spa on a recent trip there, so she decided to invite 25 of her closest friends (including SBS!) to an AMR-themed weekend in amazing Baja, Mexico. This Retreat will be unlike any other we have ever hosted: Keep reading to learn all about this Saturday-to-Wednesday getaway you won’t want to miss!

I just completed my 3rd trip to ‘The Ranch’! It always gets better. I am pining to return to The Ranch as soon as I can. I miss the fantastic colorful food, the fun yet challenging fitness classes, the expansive gardens, the smells, the amazing and hard working staff, the friendly guests, the tranquility, the luxurious casita, the cozy Bazar del Sol, and so much more. There is nothing else like it.

Susan S.

We met such interesting people as we navigated hiking, dance, water classes, Pilates, and yoga. At lease 4 or 5 choices for every hour–or you can just lie by a pool or in a hammock. The staff is excellent; the casitas are all different and lovely, the grounds are beautifully landscaped…We love it.

I feel cradled at Rancho La Puerta. Everything is beautifully appointed. The staff is warm and friendly. Their care is apparent everywhere, in the accommodations, food, spa, landscaping, and classes. It’s easy to say ‘I’m not going to worry about anything this week’ and just feel inspired.

Lynne Harty, North Carolina

My favorite part of being at The Ranch is how I feel there. The sunshine, the way my body feels after days of healthy, fresh food, exercise, nature hikes and rest—so rejuvenating.

Rita Ossiginac, Fullerton CA

It was my first time at Rancho La Puerta and it was a truly wonderful experience. U-time for your mind, body and soul and a place to retreat from everyday madness. Morning hikes to start your day to great instructors that teach us yoga, stretch classes and more.  Extraordinarily farm-fresh food and plenty of time to meet new friends. I can’t wait to come again.

The Ranch has been an incredibly healing place for my family. My daughters and I have bonded and overcome tough times. There’s no better vacation to set aside technology and get in touch with yourself and those you love. It’s decadent to enjoy unstructured time with my kids. We each follow what we feel like doing in the moment.

Jessica and Hannah

Jessica: My sister lives on the West coast. I live in New York. My mom is in North Carolina. At the Ranch, we’re so happy to be together, catch up on our lives and do our favorite things. We’re all at our best. It’s the most magical and amazing vacation!

Hannah: This was a really special trip because it was just my mom, sister and me. I’m a big trail runner, so I was in heaven exploring their beautiful and scenic trail system. I love the way I feel after a week at the ranch—healthy, refreshed, content and ready to return!

From an early Rancho La Puerta brochure, c. 1945

Rancho La Puerta …seeks to guide those who are interested in a sane, well-balanced program of living. It emphasizes that health is the consequence of living in harmony with all the forces of nature, according to the laws of nature. It puts all the preconditions of such a life at the disposal of its members, and trains them according to the basic, ageless pattern of simple, natural healthy life for the body, and the utilization of all the values of science, literature, philosophy and the arts, for the mind…It is veritably a “School of Living” where the vital needs of the total man and woman are taken into account.

Patricia Schantz & Wade Robinson

It felt like our little oasis. We wandered the leafy paths and wondered ‘are other people really here?’ The Ranch was as secluded and romantic as we wanted it to be. Our stay rekindled our devotion to each other and our own personal well-being.

Rachel Rath

Rancho La Puerta is named a top destination spa by travel magazines, but it feels like a hidden gem. The setting is gorgeous. You’re unplugged from the frenzy of life. There’s farm-fresh food prepared with love, the friendliest people, and many novel ways to move your body. You can’t experience this anywhere else.

Trisha McDonald

The Ranch always gives me exactly what I need. Sometimes it’s fitness. Other times it’s kinship. There have been visits I’ve sought serenity. It’s almost magical how the place meets me where I am. I always return home the best me I can be.

Theresa Spangle

There’s a palpable draw to The Ranch. The second you get there it envelops you. As you leave you daydream about going back.
