¡Feliz Día del Padre! Happy Father’s Day!

In celebration of our dads, I asked some of The Ranch staff what sweet memories linger, or things their dads taught them that have made a difference in their lives.

“My dad taught me my work ethic by his example.  He also taught me that yelling and losing one’s temper is not the best way to express yourself or get what you want.  I don’t recall my father ever raising his voice to any of his kids, and we have a great deal of respect for that.” – Barry Shingle, Director of Guests Relations and Programming.

“Well, my dad taught me to play tennis, to appreciate a good sense of humor (i.e., laugh at his jokes), and to do my best at whatever I do.” – Alma McCorkle, Accounting Manager.

“As a kid, I always watched my dad fixing something under the hood of the car and since then, I loved tools. On my 31st birthday, I got a small tool kit from my dad, and it has been best gift I ever got!” Maura Montoya, Dining Hall Coordinator.

“He taught me by example, to always take care of my family regardless of the circumstances.” -Marcos Landavazo, Tennis Pro.

“My Dad taught me to play soccer and maneuver a boat on the Seine River.” – Hervé Blondel, General Manager.

“My dad taught me to filet a fish and cook a lot of different seafood; Zarandeado, Caldo Mariscos, Camarones Aguachiles. Now I’m hungry.” -Georgina Morales, Sous Chef, La Cocina Que Canta.

“My father taught me that no matter what I do, always be the best.” -Cesar Anguiano, Food and Beverage Coordinator, El Cafecito.

“My Dad taught me to put honesty first.” – Adam Gallo, Mixed Discipline Fitness Instructor.

“I grew up in a single-parent home, but my mom always taught me, “Of what you decide to be, be the best; even if you are a sweeper, be the best sweeper!” -Sandy Mora, Front Desk and Concierge Coordinator.

“My dad taught me to “just do it” he encouraged a courageous way of living, how to balance my checking account, and how to be a great Green Bay Packers football fan! “-Jill Thiry, Fitness and Guest Experience Department.

“I was an extremely loud and hyper child. My father always said: “When you speak, use the low, well-modulated tone of a young lady.” His words are a great reminder to remain calm and controlled, especially in professional situations.” -Gretta Perlmutter, Marcom Specialist.
