Dear Chamber Music Lovers,
At the end of every festival week, I hear, “This was the best week ever, I don’t know how you can possibly top it next year.” Then, in keeping with The Ranch motto, “siempre mejor,” we manage to make it even better!
With the week now less than six months away, I’m excited to share the roster of artists for our 2025 Chamber Music Festival. From February 1-8, The Ranch will be ringing with performances by beloved musicians, stellar ensembles, rising stars, and a young prodigy.
In addition to offering traditional chamber music with strings and piano, our 2025 program also includes vocal chamber music at its best. You’ll get to experience the Grammy and Emmy Award-winning acapella group The King’s Singers as they kick off their 3-week North American tour with this rare visit to Rancho La Puerta!
Back by popular demand, Jon Kimura “Jackie” Parker will be opening our festival with a Steinway Spectacular concert on Sunday night. For early birds who take the mid-week Organic Breakfast Hike, you’ll be rewarded with a lighthearted concert by Jackie and violinist Aloysia Friedmann playing music from their recent Classical Seine River Cruise.
As a new feature of our festival, I’ll be introducing some rising stars who are creating a buzz in the music world. Violin/guitar duo ArcoStrum is redefining classical performance with witty, multi-genre programs and jaw-dropping virtuosity. Our youngest artist is 18-year-old Amelia Zitoun, a cellist of prodigious talent whose playing will surely inspire awe and wonder. When her star rises, you’ll be saying, “I saw her first!”
In response to guest requests, we will be offering a whole series of musical talks that offer space for engaging with artists for anyone who plays an instrument or is curious to know what goes on in the practice room.
As always, we will be playing iconic chamber music and introducing you to lesser-known gems of the repertoire. A special feature this year comes in the form of a collaboration with poet A. Van Jordan for a jazz-inspired program based on his poem “Such Sweet Thunder.” You’ll encounter music as you walk the beautiful grounds, and after a week of concerts, talks, and “random acts of music,” we will ring out the 2025 festival with wine, new friends, and Sunset Encores with ArcoStrum at the Bazar del Sol.
With such a unique roster of artists performing in the exquisite setting of The Ranch, it’s fair to ask: In your lifetime, what are the chances you’ll ever experience the convergence of talent, nature, and beauty like this?
The stage is set, and your villa awaits, so book now and bring your friends for an unforgettable week of music at Rancho La Puerta!
Wishing you beauty and joy,
