Hands On Cooking Classes with Mary Kay Waters

Mary Kay offers hands-on culinary experiences, 3.5 hours each, during which you will enjoy preparing your own meal along with fellow cooks. Classes take place at La Cocina Que Canta, our culinary center on Tuesday and Wednesday at 4pm.

Mary Kay Waters received her BS in Nutrition at the University of Maryland, and her AOS at the Culinary Institute of America. She also holds a diploma from L’Academie de Cuisine under White House Pastry Chef Roland Mesnier.

Waters was a Chef de Partie at the Four Seasons and Chef d’Entremetier at The Four Ways Restaurant, both in Washington D.C, working under the acclaimed Chef Daniel Boulud. She starter her first company, Gourmet Lunch and Catering, in 1987 in New Jersey and later established Waters Fine Catering in San Diego in 1990.

Mary Kay went on to develop the Waters Fine Foods caf ’s in order to establish a closer connection with her clientele and to enable customers to enjoy wholesome, delicious food on a daily basis. The cafe has allowed for new recipe development and menu ideas and the launch of her cookbook, Stories & Recipes from our Kitchen.

After 33 years, Mary Kay sold Waters Catering. She is now focused on pursuing her passion of eating for health and longevity. Learning from podcasts and books by many authors, including Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Steven Gundry, Dan Buettner of the Blue Zones, and Chef David Bouley. She cooks mindfully, slowly and joyfully, focusing on each ingredients’ flavor, form and function as she chops, saut s, and tastes. Mary Kay loves exploring and sharing delicious recipes that bring health and harmony to our bodies.
