Loren’s masterful keyboard artistry is the perfect way to relax and enjoy the end of another incredible day at the Ranch. The program combines jazz standards, as well as pieces from his new album showcasing neo-romantic and new age solo piano compositions reminiscent of Chopin, Satie, and George Winston but with a style all his own.

The program combines tasty jazz standards, as well as pieces from his new album showcasing neo-romantic and new-age solo piano compositions reminiscent of Chopin, Satie, and George Winston but with a style all his own.

At the Bazar del Sol, enjoy the late afternoon with both mellow and lively tunes from Loren’s keyboard, including jazz standards, impressionistic compositions, pop, blues and new age in the perfect outdoor setting with views of Mt. Kuchumaa.

 

 

Pianist/composer Loren Wilken has lived on the Big Island of Hawaii for over 30 years playing jazz, pop, blues, classical, and new age at resorts, restaurants, and theaters. As part of the “house” rhythm section for the Big Island Jazz and Blues Festival he has performed with such jazz luminaries as Eric Marienthal, Donald Harrison, Javon Jackson, and Skip Martin. His song JEM was recorded by an all-star band including jazz saxophonist Brandon Fields. His compositions and arrangements have been performed by many jazz bands, new age ensembles, and community choirs and have been used in film, TV, and compilation albums. He has won multiple awards from ASCAP and songwriting competitions and has produced and played on several album projects ranging from jazz ensembles to meditation and spa CDs.
