Laughter for Grief Relief
Laughter, even in moments of deep grief, has the power to heal. While it may feel impossible to laugh when experiencing extreme sorrow, moments of humor can provide a much-needed emotional release. Deep laughter can free the diaphragm and offer respite from the pain, reminding us that joy can coexist with sadness. It also stimulates the brain to release endorphins, the body’s natural stress relievers, cultivating a sense of well-being. Shared laughter, especially with loved ones, fosters connection and lightens the emotional load, allowing us to process grief more gently and, ultimately, begin healing.

Carla H. Brown has dedicated over 30 years to holistic health, integrating laughter, joyful embodiment, and emotional well-being. As a Grief Yoga® and Laughter Yoga Teacher, and an emotional resiliency coach, she supports others navigate grief and loss while rediscovering joy and peace. Influenced by her complex childhood and multiple health challenges, Carla has navigated the range of emotions, and by utilizing laughter and grief work, she’s released the heavy emotions, reclaiming joy and inner peace. Her global teaching journey includes becoming the 2023 World Laughter Champion, yet her true fulfillment lies in empowering others amidst their struggles.
