The Leaders

Annie Fenn, MD

DR. Annie Fenn is a physician, chef, and author of the bestselling Substack Brain Health Kitchen and The Brain Health Kitchen: Preventing Alzheimer’s Through Food (Artisan 2023), a science-based cookbook and care manual for the brain. After twenty years as a board-certified ob-gyn and certified menopausal health expert, her career pivoted to the culinary arts and Alzheimer’s prevention. She founded the Brain Health Kitchen, the only cooking school of its kind focused exclusively on helping people prevent cognitive decline through food and lifestyle. Her mission at Brain Health Kitchen is to help you take care of your brain while still eating delicious food. Dr. Fenn hosts Brain Health Retreats in Italy, Mexico, and Costa Rica that are immersive experiences in cultivating brain-healthy habits. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Cincinnati and Harvard University where she lectures young adults and medical students about brain health. 


Julie Fratantoni, PhD

Dr. Julie Fratantoni, PhD, is a cognitive neuroscientist who is passionate about helping people become proactive about their brain health. Prior to starting her own science communication company, Julie spent five years at The University of Texas at Dallas Center for BrainHealth where she launched and led a large scale longitudinal study seeking to define, measure, and improve brain performance across the lifespan. Her research experience also includes initiatives for women’s brain health, sleep, and kindness. She is a skilled science communicator who regularly appears on Good Morning Texas with brain tips and neuroscience insights. Julie also authors a weekly substack newsletter called Better Brain, that breaks down neuroscience and has over 175,000 subscribers. She received her PhD from UT Dallas and is also a licensed speech language pathologist, and trained in biofeedback and mindfulness techniques. Her clinical work has focused on facilitating high performance brain training for corporate executives, veterans, and athletes.


Carrie Geraci, BA

Carrie Geraci, BA, is a plein air painter and public art curator based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She has been an active part of the Jackson art scene since 1995, showcasing work that blends intuition, expressive mark-making, and unexpected color juxtapositions. Specializing in soft Sennelier pastels for her plein air pieces, her studio practice also includes oils and acrylics.  Geraci earned a BA in Visual Arts from Brown University, where she also studied printmaking and photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. She further expanded her artistic perspective during a semester abroad in Florence, Italy, immersing herself in sculpture, photography, and drawing while exploring the region’s rich art history.  A dedicated arts educator, she has taught at Portsmouth Abbey Summer School, Snake River Institute, and the Jackson Hole Community School.  Beyond her personal practice, Geraci is the founder and executive director of JH Public Art, a nonprofit she established in 2010. Under her leadership, the organization has commissioned dynamic, free, and accessible public art, enriching the cultural landscape of Jackson Hole.

Laura Morris, CPT

Laura Morris, CPT is a professionally trained chef, certified personal trainer, and certified nutrition consultant with a deep commitment to brain-healthy living. She is the co-author of two books on nutrition and dementia prevention—Diet for the MIND and The Official MIND Diet—written with Dr. Martha Clare Morris and Jennifer Ventrelle. Laura specializes in translating cutting-edge research into real-life strategies that support cognitive health through food and movement.

Through workshops, culinary demos, and her signature MIND diet programs, Laura partners with individuals, organizations, and healthcare systems to deliver evidence-based, engaging education that makes brain-healthy eating both approachable and enjoyable. She also leads professional programming for clinicians and caregivers seeking to integrate MIND diet principles into their care models.


Jennifer Ventrelle, MS, RDN, CPT

Jennifer Ventrelle, MS, RDN, CPT, is a registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, and co-author of The Official MIND Diet. With more than 23 years of experience in clinical nutrition, fitness, and mindfulness-based lifestyle interventions, she specializes in reducing dementia risk and supporting long-term well-being through the MIND diet and sustainable behavior change.

She is a trained mindfulness meditation teacher through the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness and integrates Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) into her work to support emotional resilience and lasting habits.

As an Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical Center, Jennifer designs and leads behavioral intervention trials, including the U.S. POINTER Study—the largest lifestyle intervention trial in the U.S. demonstrating that lifestyle changes can improve cognitive function in older adults at risk of cognitive decline. She is also Co-Founder of The Official MIND Diet, LLC, partnering with individuals, organizations, and health systems to scale evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle programs.

Jennifer is passionate about helping people build a peaceful relationship with food and discover the power of small, meaningful lifestyle changes to support lifelong health.

The Artful Mind: Plein Air Workshops with Artist Carrie Geraci, BA
A hands-on workshop for both the absolute beginner and for seasoned artists. Practice tapping into your creative energy by beginning each session with a silent walk and painting what you see and feel, on site, drawing with soft pastels on sanded paper. By looking closely at the world around us, we can enter a contemplative and meditative state that promotes relaxation. By depicting what we see through creative problem solving, we can open new reward pathways in our brain.

In addition to all the Women In Sustainability Week events, your week at Rancho La Puerta will include classes that will energize your body, calm your mind, and lift your spirits.

Every week at Rancho La Puerta, you will enjoy:

  • Guided hikes on 40 miles of mountain trails each morning.
  • More than 50 daily fitness classes, including Pilates, Pickleball, Barre, TRX, Hydro-Fit, yoga, and Zumba.
  • Three farm-to-table meals, sourced from our organic garden and other local farms.
  • Eleven gyms, four pools, a running track, and tennis, pickleball, basketball, and volleyball courts.
  • Three full-service spas offering massage, facials, wraps, scrubs and other holistic therapies.

  • Mind-body classes include mindfulness, meditation, Feldenkrais, and sound healing.
