The Docent Program was created many years ago as a way to give our first-time guests a warm welcome and orient them so they can make the most out of their stay. Yes, we have an excellent staff that can welcome them and guide them, but who better to see things from the guest´s point of view than an experienced past guest?
To be considered, you must meet the following guidelines:
- You have been a paying guest in the last 3 years and have visited The Ranch a minimum of 10 times.
- Come prepared with good walking shoes and a lot of energy! This position requires at least 4 miles a day of walking and a good sense of direction. It is a very active role.
- Be available for a 3-week commitment with occasional long days.
- Be an appropriate ambassador of our Ranch principles of inclusiveness, kindness, and patience and have been observed during past visits to be an exemplary typical guest who displays the outgoing and service-oriented behaviors required of an effective Docent.
