Mallory Newbern is a long-time creative, portraitist, and textile artist. Following her graduation from Rice University in 2022, she lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a year to experience Spanish immersion and conduct research with a local nonprofit. During her time with the organization, Mallory completed a mixed-media portrait series to accompany the project entitled ‘Narrated Images of African, Afro-Argentine, and Afro-Descendant Testimonies.’ Mallory loves teaching workshops and encouraging children to explore their unique artistic styles. https://www.instagram.com/malnewbernart/?hl=en
