Cooking Classes

Week of April 10, 2021

Kathleen Flinn is a French-trained chef and internationally bestselling author, teacher and speaker best known for a series of acclaimed food memoirs starting with The New York Times bestseller The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry (Viking/Penguin Random House).

Her acclaimed follow-up, The Kitchen Counter Cooking School, was named 2012 Book of the Year by the American Society of Journalists & Authors (ASJA). The Japanese adaptation of that book, imaginatively titled as Miracle Cooking Lessons for Bad Women, became a sensation in Japan when it debuted in early 2017.

Flinn’s goal in life is to encourage everyone to be more confident in their kitchens. As Publisher’s Weekly noted, “Like Julia Child before her, Flinn aims to demystify rarefied culinary know-how and bring basic cooking lessons to the simplest level.”

Her award-winning podcast, Hungry for Words, features in-depth conversations with some of the most notable people writing about food. You can find it at hungryforwords.show or wherever you listen to podcasts. Learn more and get plenty of recipes at kathleenflinn.com
