GYROKINESIS®

GYROKINESIS® exercise is a complete movement system, for all levels and ages, and can be applied to a variety of situations, as one needs very little equipment. It incorporates many key principles from yoga, dance, gymnastics and Tai Chi. The class begins with the practitioner seated on a low stool and begins with simple breathing patterns to awaken the body. He or she mobilizes the spine and joints through a series of arching, curling and spiraling movements. The corresponding breathing patterns in every movement help to stimulate the nervous system and open up energy pathways. Rhythm, movement, & breath are the key elements of this system accessible for all fitness levels.

Master Trainer Elizabeth Jackson will help you achieve maximum strength and vitality through the powerful movement system of GYROKINESIS®. While finishing her BA in Liberal Arts from Harvard University, Elizabeth fell in love with the healing arts. Weaving together her background in classical piano along with her studies of physics and anatomy, she has created a unique and highly effective style of instruction.
Since 2002, her studies have extensively focused on the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® and the workings of our energy body. She is a Specialized GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer, a GYROTONIC® Master Trainer, and a GYROTONIC® Specialized Equipment Master Trainer. Elizabeth additionally holds certifications in Pilates and Yamuna Body Rolling. Her instruction is also influenced by her studies with world famous myofascial therapist Tom Myers, and Craniofacial Unwinding Instructor Gary Strauss.
As the founder of Balance by Elizabeth Jackson in Los Angeles, Elizabeth is a Master Trainer educating teachers as well people of all levels and abilities. Her teaching success includes working with injuries such as hip-replacements and spinal fusions; illnesses like fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis; bone disorders such as osteoporosis and scoliosis; professional athletes like Shaq O’Neil to everyday people of all ages.
