Live a Life of Peace

Week of March 13, 2021

Create a life of peace in your heart, home, country, and the world through hands-on, interactive, and joyful activities led by the founder of Kids for Peace.

Live a Life of Peace
Using the Peace Pledge as a guide, we will explore how to live a simple yet extraordinary life full of love, kindness, purpose, and joy. Each follow-up workshop will dive into a line of the Peace Pledge offering dynamic, fun, and interactive activities that will warm your heart and enliven your soul.

The Peace Pledge

I pledge to use my words to speak in a kind way.

I pledge to help others as I go throughout my day.

I pledge to care for our earth with my healing heart and hands.

I pledge to respect people in each and every land.

I pledge to join together as we unite the big and small.

I pledge to do my part to create PEACE for one and all.

Follow Up Workshops:

  1. I pledge to use my words to speak in a kind way. We will explore the power of our words through an applied kinesiology exercise followed by the making of personal affirmation magnets to take home.
  2. I pledge to help others as I go throughout my day. We will discuss the many ways we can be of service to others. We will then make “Peace Packs” to be given to the children at the Kids for Peace School & Friendship Center in Tijuana, Mexico. A “Peace Pack” is a hand-painted knapsack filled with school supplies, toiletries, a toy, and a note of friendship.
  3. I pledge to join together as we unite the big and small. We will examine the new paradigm of collaboration and cooperation vs. competition and division followed by the making of “Love Links” for the Kids for Peace Kindness Unites Paperchain. This uplifting art project will not only set a Guinness World Record, it will live on to remind us that we are all linked by love!
  4. I pledge to do my part to create peace for one and all. We will be guided in a Peace Pledge Movement and Meditation by my 22-year-old daughter Hana (leader of Camp Kids for Peace and Club Kids for Peace). This is a beautiful time to move our bodies and go inward as we reflect on living a life of peace.

Jill McManigal, the mother of two amazing kids, is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Kids for Peace, a global nonprofit that empowers youth to create peace through hands-on service, global friendships and thoughtful acts of kindness. What started in 2006 as a “club” in Jill’s backyard has grown into a worldwide movement with over 17 million youth participating in 115 countries. Always leading with love, Jill mobilizes children and helps them put their compassion into action. Whether building schools in Kenya and Pakistan, playgrounds in Puerto Rico, a health clinic in Liberia, a school and friendship center in Mexico, or inspiring a billion acts of kindness across the planet, Jill is joyfully living a life of peace.
