Run Away with the Circus with Matt Roben
Week of July 25, 2026
Ever dreamed of running away with the circus? This is your chance — no packing required.
Matt Roben spent 25 years traveling the world as a professional circus artist, performing everywhere from the Joffrey Ballet to the Grand Ole Opry and even at a Chicago Bulls halftime show. Now he brings that big-top energy to Rancho La Puerta for a week of laughter, skill-building, and showmanship.
Through hands-on juggling workshops and playful circus challenges, children and teens will learn real tricks — from scarf juggling and balance skills to stage presence and performance confidence. Along the way, Matt shares unforgettable stories from life on tour, proving that courage, practice, and a little humor can take you anywhere.
Teens | Step Into the Spotlight
Teens can level up their skills, refine a short act, and develop the confidence to perform — whether solo or with friends — at Rancho La Puerta’s Got Talent. It’s bold, active, and surprisingly empowering.
Children | Laugh, Toss, Repeat!
Young circus hopefuls will delight in colorful juggling scarves, playful challenges, and lots of encouragement. It’s joyful, high-energy fun that builds coordination and confidence — and maybe even inspires a Talent Show debut.
Matt Roben spent 25 years as a professional circus artist performing around the world before serving as a Chicago police officer and bagpiper. Now known as the “Kilted Auctioneer,” he continues to entertain and inspire while raising millions for charitable causes.
