Dynamic Stability Training Program using Tai Chi as a balance modality (Lecture).
The Dynamic Stability Training Program (DST) uses the principles of human physiology, physics and Tai Chi Chuan to improve static and dynamic stability and reduce the risk of falling. This lecture takes you through the science behind the program and provides a sequence of exercises & Tai Chi based movements, that can be done daily for effective and long-term fall risk reduction.
Dynamic Stability Training Tai Chi Class (Movement Class):
Dynamic Stability Training Tai Chi is a 30 min program done in standing to safely improve whole body mobility, leg strength, as well as improve dynamic stability using elements of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. Done over time, this routine can improve leg strength, trunk and lower extremity mobility and both static and dynamic stability, which may reduce the risk of future falls.
Private Consultation: Reece Jensen DPT, OCS will be available for private consultationregarding fall risk reduction assessment, orthopedic physical therapy assessment and treatment. *Physical therapy treatment will include: Manual therapy (joint mobilization & various therapeutic massage techniques), Manual resisted exercise & muscle facilitation techniques & therapeutic exercise (Theraband and available gym equipment).
Reece Jensen is a doctor of physical therapy with 37 years of experience. He graduated from Boston University initially in1989 with a Masters of Science in physical therapy and then again in 2005 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. He has been an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) for 30 of those years. Over his career, he has directed several clinics for the Physical Rehabilitation Network. He is currently the owner of PRN Encinitas in San Diego. Reece is also a life lifelong martial artist, speaks Japanese and holds black belts in Karate and Aikido. He is also a certified Tai Chi Chuan instructor.
