The Aging Eye with Dr. Janine Tabas

Week of May 16, 2026

The Aging Eye and Common Ocular Conditions
You may have noticed that your vision is not as sharp as it once was. Our eyes naturally change over time, often beginning with difficulty reading in our 40s and gradually progressing to challenges such as night driving or adjusting to changes in light.

In this presentation, we will explore the normal changes that occur in the aging eye, as well as several of the most common ocular conditions and diseases.

Cataracts — Everybody Gets Them!
If you live long enough, you will likely develop cataracts. In this informative session, you will learn what cataracts are, how they affect vision, and when treatment becomes necessary.

We will review surgical options and the wide range of lens implant choices available today, helping you better understand which options may be right for you. Surgical videos can be shown upon request.

The Eye–Body Connection
The eyes truly are windows to overall health. In this session, you will learn how serious medical conditions are sometimes first detected during a comprehensive eye exam. We will also discuss how various diseases and medications can impact vision, the role of diet and vitamin supplementation in ocular health, and which medications may need to be adjusted prior to eye surgery.
