Yarn Painting, Prayer Arrows, Art & Story with Timothy Hinchliff
Week of July 25, 2026
Teens | Create. Imagine. Express.
Teens are invited to explore this intricate art form in a hands-on, expressive workshop. Designing their own yarn pieces, crafting personal Prayer Arrows, and experimenting with storytelling and poetry, participants discover art as both creative expression and quiet focus. Each teen leaves with something original, meaningful, and entirely their own.
Children | Color & Texture in Motion
Children delight in the sensory magic of warm beeswax and brilliantly colored yarn. Pressing and shaping strands onto wooden boards, young artists watch their images come to life thread by thread. With gentle guidance and plenty of room for imagination, each child creates a joyful, one-of-a-kind piece to treasure.
Timothy Hinchliff is a master yarn painter whose work has been part of the artistic and spiritual landscape of Rancho La Puerta for over three decades. Inspired by traditional Huichol art, he is known for his Circle of Angels paintings in the Ranch dining hall and for founding the beloved Prayer Arrow tradition.
