Four Ways to Tend to your Self-Care

Take self-care off your schedule. Instead absorb all that goodness into your being with these four ways. T.E.N.D. to your self and let it be a state of being. “TENDing allows you to create and enforce boundaries, to claim your needs and wants without guilt or shame,” says Elena Sonnino, Life Coach, Inner Fitness presenter, and Author.

The four ways to practice tending are in the T.E.N.D.

  1. T is for Truth. Be devoted to what feels true to you. Listen to and honor your body and what makes you uniquely you. Shed the “shoulds” of other people’s expectations and live into your core values.
  2. E stands for Embrace and Embody. To embody is to personify. You have to embrace it into your being. That doesn’t happen in your head.
  3. N is to nurture and nourish. Fill yourself with what lights you up, not because it’s a should but because it feels good. You fuel the self in self-care when you nurture yourself. Nourishing ourselves isn’t about losing something or getting away from something. It’s about cherishing ourselves and sustaining our joy.
  4. D is for the delight in deliciousness. One of my favorite questions to start the day is asking what would feel delicious today. When you ask yourself that question out loud, it’s hard not to smile. Is it singing, calling a friend, dancing? The deliciousness is a reminder to be present today.

See you at The Ranch.
