Script Your Success – Journaling Your Way to a New Life!

Journaling is a powerful tool for releasing brain clutter and emotions, documenting our day, and healing our way through life.

You can also use a specific type of journaling to help you manifest the life you want.

I call it Scripting Your Success.

It’s writing much like you would if you were writing a script for a movie. You write a story as though it’s happening right now with great detail. Stories are powerful. We are always telling ourselves stories about our future and our potential. Whether we say them to a friend, write them down, or imagine them in our heads. We often tell stories unconsciously about how we can’t do something, or it’ll never happen.

It’s time to flip the script!

Scripting Your Success involves consciously journaling with intention and imagination. Our vivid imagination is our soul’s communication tool for talking to our hearts.

This is a fun, easy, and yet profoundly powerful process for shaping your life, improving, or attracting relationships, finding a new home, improving your career or financial picture, or bringing that business idea to life.

I’ve written success scripts for my website launch, writing my book, found a new home that feeds my soul, gone through a divorce amicably and spiritually, and attracted my wonderful partner. Part of my journaling practice is to script my week as though it’s already a success! If I have a particularly busy or important day, I’ll also script a specific event.

Years ago, my husband and I were going through a divorce. Even though it was the right decision for us to separate, obviously, it was tough. I also knew we would be connected to each other forever through our two sons. I used scripting to journal my way through the divorce with intention. This process helped me align my vision, attitude, and actions for what kind of relationship I wanted to have after this messy and vulnerable process. I scripted before each conversation we had about separating our lives, sharing, and raising our children, and even the financial aspects of our agreement. I journaled the best possible scenario for each of these conversations. It didn’t always go the way I scripted, but I know it changed how I showed up, the way I responded, and my attitude, and in turn, that changed how he showed up, too. After our divorce, parents on our son’s baseball team would often comment how they couldn’t believe what a good and respectful relationship we have. In fact, after our divorce court appearance, my now ex-husband took me to a business club for a glass of champagne to toast our new lives together… It was done from a place of truly wanting the best for each other. I couldn’t have even imagined such a positive experience!

Script Your Success Prompt:

I love to start out as though it’s the end of the year. It usually goes something like this…

It’s December 31st, and I am sitting in a big, soft, comfy chair overlooking the sparkling blue ocean. I have a warm cup of my favorite vanilla honey chamomile tea. I am feeling tremendous gratitude for this amazing year. My heart is wide open. I am loving…

Change the environment to reflect your own perfect location and time, and then continue writing about your dream as though it’s happening now. Make sure you include details about how you feel, using powerful emotions like love, joy, pride, excitement, delight, and enthusiasm. Include vivid descriptions of your senses—sound, sight, touch, taste, and smell. This will help align your energy with what you want to manifest. When you write in this way, it connects your mind, body, and soul. This creative journaling process can totally change your life.

How to get Started Scripting Your Success:

  1. Pick a specific area of your life, career, or business where you want to create something different.
  2. Select a date in the future.
  3. Journal as though it’s the future. Write as though it’s that date, and you are writing with gratitude for all that has happened in this area.
  4. You want to write in the present tense (Example, I am enjoying my new home.) or in the past tense (Ex, I am so grateful for all the support I received to write my book). Don’t write. I wish this would happen.
  5. Journal in great detail about your new reality. Make sure you include details about the people around you, conversations you are having as the new you, the environment you are now in, and, most importantly, how you feel. Including your feelings in the new reality will raise your vibration to align with what you want to manifest.
  6. Give yourself permission to make it all up! One of my favorite book titles is The Answer to How is Yes! As you journal, you are making it all up! Write it as though you are living your dream now.

Keeping Your Script Alive:

  1. Fertilize your dream time. Read your script before you sleep to intentionally plant thoughts for your dream time.
  2. Live into your script each day. Make it a practice to read your script when you wake up. Let yourself feel the success of the new reality with powerful emotion as though it’s happening now.
  3. Notice the Clues. Watch for the synchronicities, miracles, messages, and magic that will happen.
  4. Take action toward your new reality. This is key. As the clues point you in a direction, it’s up to you to take courageous action toward your dream.

It’s amazing how much easier and more magical your life will be when you journal your new story.
