Inner Fitness: Reconnect with Your Human Being

Adriana offers five 45-minute lessons based on her work as a Human Software Engineer and Be2Be-Coaching, Inc. principles and foundations.

Are you living as a human being or as a human doing?
The origins of our human nature and the Do/Have paradigm.

It’s all about LOVE
The 4 levels of our human existence, 4 levels of wellbeing, and dimensions of wellness.  This lesson focuses on our consciousness and attention to the illusion of separateness. We are already whole and complete. Where this illusion comes from and how it has affected the way we relate to the world.

Inner Voice Vs. Mind Chatter – Connection
What is our mind chatter made of? Why it becomes mental interference? And how to listen from the observer, so it works in your favor, not against you?  This lesson will focus on helping you develop a healthy dialogue with yourself.

Free yourself from your inner blocks
Where are they stored? There is a way to access our stored memories and change them.  This lesson will focus on our inner programming. How to access our limiting beliefs in our human operative system – An analogy with how computers work.

How do I create my reality? – The two forces behind our perception of reality
What is a problem? And how you can untangle your reality to make it work for you?

Adriana Reid was born and raised in Mexico City and has resided in San Diego, California, since 2008. She has an MBA in Education, specializing in Family Counseling and Human Software Engineering. After years of bouncing around in a survival mode to provide emotionally and financially for her three sons as a single mother, she is now privileged to be focused on her heart’s passion as the founder of Be2Be-Coaching, Inc. dedicated to helping humans live their lives in a fulfilling and easier way. In her background there are many hours dedicated to families, helping children and adults overcome difficult situations and moments of crisis, by teaching them emotional self-sufficiency practices and techniques that she has gathered along the way on her healing journey. Among her favorites are, the pioneering field of Human Software Engineering which helps her understand and resolve blockages at the pre-verbal stages of our human conditioning at the level they were created and installed in our belief system; as she eloquently says: “Human conditioning determines and block the skills and abilities people have to resolve their inner conflicts and excel in life.”  Be2Be-Coaching principles -decode, recode, and reprogram, are directed to help clients find blockages, provide effective resolution to problems and/or challenges, regardless of the circumstances, and allow them to gain their power back to co-create and manifest their heartfelt desires.

The Writer’s Journal

The Journal as a Starting Place
Journal writing is an ideal way to express and develop ideas, emotions and creativity as well as a way to heal the self, discover hidden abilities and desires—and, of course, deal with life’s realities. Writers often use journals to work out ideas, to sketch out characters, capture memories and describe settings. Being at Rancho La Puerta with a notebook is the perfect time to begin a journal practice or resume one that you might have left behind. The journal you keep will be a treasure trove of pieces to develop further in memoirs, non-fiction, fiction and all of your writing.

Three Journal Writing Workshops. All of them are hands-on writing experiences:
The List of 100 Desires
An exploration of the ways in which list-making can be an effective tool for writing.

Dialogue with the Self
An examination of why and how writing dialogues can unleash powerful insights and effects in writing.

Right Brain/Left Brain Collision
A journey into the ways external stimuli can be used to uncover new realizations and empower storytelling.

The Mediterranean Diet: A Way of Life

Learn how residents in the Mediterranean region enhance well-being and increase longevity with prudent eating and wise living.

The Mediterranean diet is basically a lifestyle.  The recommendations do not eliminate many natural foods but instead offer suggestions for the best items to eat in various categories.  In general, the foundation of the diet is plant-based, natural and unprocessed foods, such as whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices. Olive oil is the main source of added fat. Fish, seafood, dairy, and poultry are included in moderation.  Red meat and sweets are eaten only occasionally.  The Mediterranean diet principles can also be easily be adapted for vegetarians thanks to the wide variety of recommended natural, nutrient-rich foods.

The Mediterranean lifestyle is also part of the plan, including daily physical activity, as well as placing a priority on taking time to gather around the table to savor and share healthy meals.

Perhaps this diet and way of life is why people who live around the Mediterranean are noted as being some of the healthiest people in the world.

Folk Concerts

David Wilcox will play guitar and sing, performing songs from his more than 20 records and his considerable collection of newer material. He will also work with audience members, crafting songs that respond to “what they need at the moment.”

More than three decades and twenty records into his career, singer/songwriter David Wilcox continues to push himself, just as he always has. Wilcox, by so many measures, is a quintessential folk singer, telling stories full of heart, humor, and hope, substance, searching, and style. His innate sense of adventure and authenticity is why critics and colleagues, alike, have always praised not just his artistry, but his humanity, as well.

Wilcox has kept to a brisk and thorough tour itinerary, performing 80 to 100 shows a year throughout the U.S., and regularly deploying his talents by improvising a “Musical Medicine” song for an audience member in need. In recent years he’s taken that process a step further, carefully writing and recording dozens of his “Custom Songs” for long-time fans who seek his help in commemorating and explaining the key milestones in their lives.

Lest anyone think that he’s lost his touch, Wilcox pulled no punches on his most recent release, 2018’s The View From the Edge. Not only does the song cycle find him delving into mental health, family legacies, spiritual contemplations, and topical concerns, the song “We Make the Way By Walking” also won him the Grand Prize in the 2018 USA Songwriting Contest.

Exercise, from Move-it to Marathons

Exercise from Move-it to Marathons
After a healthy diet, physical activity is the easiest and least expensive way to increase longevity and prevent heart disease and dementia. Beneficial physical activity ranges from walking stairs to running marathons. This talk discusses the myriad physical and emotional benefits of all levels of physical activity, as well as the occasional adverse effects of excessive activities, such as marathon running. Our national guidelines on physical activity including aerobic, resistive, and balance exercises are discussed with an emphasis on just how to receive the greatest benefit.

Neurodegenerative Diseases
Dementia, most commonly Alzheimer’s disease, affects one in 14 people over 65 years of age and one in six over 80. It is the most feared illness in older individuals. It is also at least partly preventable. The basic medical rule is that what is good for the heart is also good for the head.  This talk describes the most frequent types of dementia and other neurocognitive diseases and discusses how they are likely to present. The value of a healthy diet and physical and cognitive exercise in preventing these diseases, amounting to at least a 50% reduction, is summarized in this talk.

Healthy Pleasures

Healthy Pleasures: Why Everything that Feels Good is Not Bad
Many people think that to promote health they must undertake strict weight-loss diets, adopt punishing exercise programs, avoid salt, shun cholesterol, and follow all sorts of arduous, pleasure-denying regimens.  Fortunately, scientific evidence now suggests that for most people doing what is pleasurable, from sensual delights to selfless pleasures, from optimism to laughter, pays off twice: immediate enjoyment and better health. So taking a siesta, playing with a pet, talking to a friend, looking at nature, smelling a sweet scent, laughing at a funny movie, going shopping, having sex, soaking up the heat of a sauna, taking a vacation, passionately pursuing a hobby, sipping a glass of wine, indulging in chocolate (yes, chocolate!), listening to your favorite music, helping someone in need, thinking optimistically, practicing gratitude, and scores of other healthy pleasures may measurably improve your health.

Behavior Change Made Simpler: Health Benefits of Success and Confidence
Strong evidence suggests that celebrating successful behavior change (no matter how small!) increases confidence, and confidence itself improves health and well-being. So while increasing exercise, eating more healthfully, and managing weight are important, most of us experience repeated failure in maintaining long-term behavior change.  What does repeated failure do to our sense of confidence and control? Happily, there are practical ways to improve confidence, success, and health through small changes without sacrificing enjoyment. You don’t have to kill yourself to save your life!

Stress: Avoid, Cope or Embrace?
Do you often feel that stress depletes your health, vitality, and health? Do you believe that stress is negative and should be avoided? Or do you view stress as positive- something that enhances your health, growth, and performance? It turns out that our beliefs about stress (our “mindsets”) may be more powerful in shaping our health, than stress itself. Rather than just managing stress, learn how to shift mindset to embrace and utilize stress as something helpful.

Rx Healthy Sex: Is Sex Good Medicine?
Sexuality is central to human well-being, but most of medicine is focused on sexual dysfunction and health risks of sexual activity. But can enjoying the pleasures of sex have benefits for health and well-being? Is good sex good for you? We will explore the scientific evidence that sexual activity can increase longevity, lower heart disease risk, reduce prostate cancer, reduced vaginal atrophy, burn calories, improve marital satisfaction, support successful aging, reduce stress and even stop headaches. We will also consider if sex be prescribed and how can sexual satisfaction be enhanced.
